Bestard: quality, tradition and technology

Calzados Bestard is a family business founded in 1940. Originally they began to manufacture men's footwear and in the 70s they specialized in mountain footwear. They are currently internationally known and sell in more than 30 countries.

Bestard was founded in the small town of Lloseta, on the island of Mallorca, where the factory and a large part of the production are still located, located at the foot of the Sierra de la Tramuntana.

company philosophy

Always make boots of the best possible quality and technology and combine it with tradition. Concentrate on what they know how to do well and always improve, taking into account all the advice from the people who use these boots. Be open, flexible and work as a team with all distributors, commercial agents, suppliers and experts.

Why choose a Bestard boot?

It is a company that, despite its growth, has never been tempted to set rapid and uncontrollable growth goals, nor to diversify the company into other products. They have preferred to concentrate on what they know how to do well, in small production series, controlled and very pampered.

Being at the foot of the Tramuntana, there is a great tradition of mountain activities and many of the workers spend much of their free time there. That is why they know first-hand how a good mountaineering boot should be, they market the boot that they like to wear themselves.

Besides, these boots are made to last and if they need to be repaired they fix it to give them a longer life. In this way, in addition to saving money, you collaborate with the environment.

A wide range for all uses

The constant development of materials allows them to offer a wide range of products for an ever-growing variety of tastes and uses. From robust alpine-style boots for Himalayan expeditions, to soft, flexible shoes for a leisurely walk in the woods or everyday wear. Always maintaining the quality, resistance and comfort that we guarantee. What varieties do you offer?

  • High Mountain: For technical ascents in high mountains and glaciers, as well as for activities such as ice climbing or alpine explorations. You need boots that provide complete confidence and protection over the media.
  • Advanced trekking: except for high winter mountain ascents and more technical climbs, these "all-terrain" boots will allow you to carry out a wide variety of medium and high mountain activities. First of all, they are designed for long and demanding alpine routes through varied and complicated terrain, and at the same time they will allow you to carry out moderate level climbs, snowshoeing, crossing glaciers, via ferrata, etc.
  • Trekking: in general, they are appropriate boots for mid-mountain environments or, in some cases, high summer mountains. Except in high winter mountain conditions, they are boots that can be used throughout the year, although leather boots combined with textile materials are more appropriate for warmer climates, due to their lighter and more breathable materials.
  • Trekking approach: apart from their comfort, lightness and attractive design for outdoor and daily use, the shoes in this family also offer extra protection, robustness and a level of support and stability of the sole, which translates into more comfort and safety in steep terrain.
  • Hidro Line: presents a concept of footwear designed and manufactured to give optimal performance in adventure sports activities in humid environments and on wet and slippery terrain, such as canyoning, caving, rafting, coasteering, trekking through tropical forests, fly fishing. and the like.
  • Hiking: the recommended activities are hiking, low mountain excursions, trips, the Camino de Santiago, long walks and the like, without forgetting the great comfort for use in daily life, for all of us who have chosen the outdoors as a lifestyle .
  • Travel: they are the ideal solution to the needs of the modern traveler, combining the best in urban shoe designs and materials with materials and solutions that come from our long experience as manufacturers of mountain boots.
  • Hunting: hunting is undoubtedly a very varied activity, and depending on the type of country, terrain and weather conditions, the needs of the equipment also change radically. Therefore, they offer a collection with boots that are very different from each other, which allows you to choose models that are perfectly adapted to each specific situation and need: the snowy forest; the rocky mountain; flat field etc.
  • Uniform: high-quality boots, efficient and resistant, but at the same time very comfortable, so that both the boot and the foot can withstand extremely hard and intensive use. Our objective with the models of this family is to satisfy the needs of the most demanding user, whose daily well-being depends on the boots they wear.

How to choose the perfect boot?

When you make the decision about which boot to choose, apart from surely important elements such as colors, designs, etc., there are mainly two basic questions to consider. In fact, these are the same two questions that our designers always study when devising new boots or improving an existing one, and also that our craftsmen are concerned about when manufacturing them:

- Technical benefits according to the activity

- Find the best fit
